Kyrgyz Republic’s Ambassador Visited MERI CIS
Kyrgyz Republic’s Ambassador to India His Excellency Mr. Askar Beshimov visited the MERI Centre for International Studies (CIS), New Delhi on Wednesday November 20, 2024.
Excellency Beshimov was received by Prof Lalit Aggarwal, Vice-President,
MERI Group of Institutions and Prof (Dr.) Ramakant Dwivedi, Head, Centre for
International Studies, New Delhi and Director, India Central Asia Foundation (ICAF), New Delhi. Excellency Beshimov was accompanied by Mr. Azamat Seidibaliev, Counsellor in Kyrgyz Republic embassy in New Delhi.
Prof Lalit Aggarwal in his welcoming remarks emphasised the importance of
New Delhi and Bishkek ties especially in culture and education sectors
He expressed
MERI Group of Institutions’ keenness in opening an Indian Study Centre in Bishkek.
His proposal was well received by the Kyrgyz side. Prof Ramakant Dwivedi
underlined the importance of historical and cultural ties between India and Kyrgyz
Republic. He underlined the need of enhancing economic engagement between New
Delhi and Bishkek.
Prof Dwivedi spoke about the importance of Kyrgyz Epic Manas
which has been translated into Hindi language and is likely to be released soon during the forthcoming visit of Kyrgyz Foreign Minister to India. Centre for International Studies, MERI Group of Institutions, New Delhi is likely to organise the Manas Epic release where Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe Ji and Shri Kalraj Mishra Ji would be present to share their perspectives about the role of Epics in human society.
