STRONG INDIA-CENTRAL ASIA TIES VITAL FOR SECURITY AND ENERGY: KANWAL SIBAL
A two-day international seminar on “India-Central Asia: Connectivity. Security, and Sustainable Partnership in a Multipolar World” was organised by the India Central Asia Foundation at India International Centre, New Delhi. Former Foreign Secretary and JNU Chancellor Kanwal Sibal, inaugurating the event, stressed that stronger ties with Central Asia are crucial for India’s security, energy needs and strategic balance, highlight-ing the role of INSTC and Chabahar Port amid Pakistan-related connectivity constraints. Mayank Singh from the Ministry of External Affairs attended as distinguished guest. In the concluding session, Prof Lalit Aggarwal of MERI underscored reviving historic links between Bengal and Khwarazm through a “digital and educational superhigh-way.” Books by Prof Ramakant Dwivedi, Lalit Aggarwal and Kurlay Baizakova were also released.
